Hi! My name is Becca, and I’m a bit of a nutrition science nerd. Nerd in the sense that John Green explains:

“….because nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff. Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like jump-up-and-down-in-the-chair-can’t-control-yourself love it….when people call people nerds, mostly what they’re saying is ‘you like stuff.’ Which is just not a good insult at all. Like, ‘you are to enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness.'”

I have a degree in Advertising & PR, so I fancy myself a bit of a writer. This blog should be a rather pleasing mashup of things I love, like nutrition science, food, recipes, and my life.

Notes on my personal life:

  • I grew up in Los Angeles, CA, home of the thin, tan and lanky. I am none of those things.
  • I moved to Rochester, NY for college. It was there that I hit my health low. There was a time when I ate almost exclusively cheap pasta meals.
  • I now live in Buffalo, NY, working as a QA specialist and copywriter for a start up in down town.
  • I got married to a man named Mark. I love my husband, he’s the best. He makes a lot of puns and cheesy jokes–some of them may make guest appearances here, if they’re particularly good.

I just want to make it clear that I have no formal nutritional training. If you see advice on here and you want to follow it, treat it as a suggestion from a friend, not the word from a doctor.
